CIRCUS GOES TO THEATRE-- A HISTORICAL JOURNEY

CIRCUS GOES TO THEATRE, A HISTORICAL JOURNEY:- Rambo Circus, The first Indian circus to perform in a theatre thus made  history at Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai on 3rd June 2012.

The show was opened by Angela L. Gemza, Cultural Affairs Officer, U.S. Consulate along with Sanjana Kapoor ( Junoon Theatre ) and Kunal Kapoor ( Prithvi Theatre ) amidst circus enthusiasts.  There were four shows (each of one hour and ten minute duration) where in  Rambo circus artistes performed the breathtaking acts to a full house.

The  artistes travelled 12 hours from Kolhapur to Mumbai via Pune. This was the first time that they  experienced the spectators sitting so close to the performing artistes unlike the ring in the circus tent, which has a very safe distance between the artistes and the viewers. The response was amazing with both kids and adults appreciating their acts. The clown artistes interacted with kids and even clicked photos with kids during the breaks.

Sanjana Kapoor ( Junoon theatre) who was instrumental in making this dream a reallity by the experimental performance at Prithvi theatre along with Sujit Dilip (far left) of Rambo Circus.

The artistes were thrilled when Sanjana Kapoor joined them for a photograph.

The presance of legendary actor Shashi Kapoor was an unforgettable moment for the artistes
